Knit across thumb stitches; on final stitch pick up one stitch from right side of mitten body and K2tog with final stitch of round. place marker between these stitches. (14 thumb stitches)

  1. Hi there. I hope you are still checking this. I am a beginner knitter and am trying out this pattern using the Magic Loop method. In the pattern it says to "Repeat as established: Increasing every third round. The number of stitches between M1s will increase by 2 for each increase round." What does this mean and how many times do I repeat? Thank you! Sara :D

  2. Don't know if you've gotten guidance yet or not. Here is my interpretation.

"repeat as established" means to repeat the pattern block (rows 4, 5, and 6), increasing 2 every 3rd round (row 4). Keep repeating those 3 rows until you have a K12 between the 2 M1's at the beginning of row 4. (4 repeats according to my counting fingers :-). Reading the pattern, I would do the final increase to 14 sts between the M1's at the end of row 4 and then would continue the instructions with the "knit 5 rows plain." I would only do row 4 the last time and not 4, 5 & 6.

You increased by 2 the first time you did row 4 and, every time row 4 comes by again, you'll increase by 2 more. The counts at the beginning of each row 4 would be: 4, 6, 8, 10, & 12.

I hope this helps and I hope I got it right. I could have cast on a sample to be certain but I'm basically lazy and did the knitting in my head. :-D
