don't blame me.

Another day.
This week at work is particularly annoying for me because I'm.... off Saturday, on Sunday. Off Monday, on Tuesday, off Wednesday. Ugh. Ughhhh.
Today, being Monday, I need to do some laundry. I brought home five shirts and some pants and something like four or seven pair of socks from my wardrobe bag last night. I just don't want to go outside to the laundry room because when I opened the door at nine am it was So Hot that it felt like I'd opened the oven instead.
Seriously. Anyway. Today is the 31st and Jon is home on the 15th! Which is fantastic. I miss my Muffin so much. I still have to clean out our closet and our under-the-bed and, you know, dust and wash the fingersmears Odin got on the walls, but I have time for that.
Today I want to measure the yardage of my new handspun yarn (I'll be suprised if it's more than like, three yards though. I'm not a very good spindler yet) and I've been considering dyeing the rest of my Patons wool so I can make a felted bag soon. I want to go ahead with the French Market Bag from Knitty, and on Tuesday (tomorrow) I'm going to order Iain to knit for my ArtSwap with Scott. Who is probably the only non-fiber artist I'd swap art with, because a lot of people don't appreciate knitted goods the way I specifically want them to. I have a whole assload of KP Wool of the Andes in Fern from a sweater I'd planned for Odin but never made. Because when I started it, finally, I realized that actually I sort of really hated it. I hated the stitch pattern. I hated it being bottom-up but for no good reason. I hated that I'm not expericned enough to knit it top-down instead and just reverse the pattern charts. I hated knitting child-sized sleeves in the round. So I frogged it. Odin doesn't like regular sweaters anyway, so I shall knit him a hoodie for this upcoming season, and some socks and hats. Odin loves hats.
...I just got lost for awhile on KnitPicks looking at the Imagination yarns. Which I recommend to anybody who loves fairy tales or just stories in general. Something about yarn entitled "Looking Glass" makes me long to knit.
I long to knit right now, but that's usual for me these days. I really want to buy Ysolda's Whimsical Knits book set (as in, there are two books and I want them both). Ysolda is the only one who understands my need for lovely knitted things that are fun to work with and teach me new things and don't have unnecessary seaming. And don't have patterns full of errata. And aren't designed for old ladies.
I want soooo much stuff omgs.
I can hardly wait until this swap is finished so I can begin the next one. Spinning! Spinning and dyeing. Mmm, roving. Wednesday I'll be mailing my swap box and also some yarn to a special someone who is sending me some replacement jewelry for my industrial and is really saving my neck (by "neck" I mean "ear"). This thing is half an inch too long. It gets caught in my hair and hurts me. It is difficult to hide at work. It's making it move around to much and it's having trouble healing. Trouble healing is new to me; I'm a super good healer with piercings and always have been. I'm trying to be patient, but come on!!! I could kill that lady for using this long of a barbell. I told that cunt my ear wasn't going to swell and I fucking meant it.
Anyway. I have things to do (as in, finish knitting Gretel. ...I told you I love Ysolda.) and photos to take (of the new squares for Odin's Afghan) and yardage to measure (I should really invest in a tool for this), and a child to entertain, and a load of laundry to do. All while it is ONE THOUSAND degrees outside. Ugh.
