A good day.
Working on my Mom's socks. Turning the heel of the second sock :) Lazing around watching The Powerpuff Girls with Odin, having a coffee and some homemade hummus, yummmmmmmy.
Plans today include:: Finish at least the gusset and half the instep of my sock. It would be splendid if I could finish the entire sock today though. Attach straps of my camisole. Consider knitting some more of, or finish the back half of my panties. I'm not concerned with the seaming, the 3-needle bind-off, or the crochet edging with elastic.
I do have tomorrow off too.
And next week at work is going to be cake. I'm off the floor all five days, in meetings and kitchens---evaluating, not cooking! Whee. My Assistant Executive Chef has mentioned to me several times to wear sensible shoes... Probably because she remembers how I used to wear fuscia satin stilletos to leadership classes. Or my beautiful pearl-button black leather four inch pumps. Oh geez.
I'm looking forward to picking out outfits for the week. To getting to do my hair before work. To having my friends and coworkers make me coffees in the afternoon, just like I do for so many other people. Maybe that makes me a little bitchy, but it's the truth. I'm gonna love it.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day. Ironically, I'll be visiting my DAD tomorrow, for the first time in about... Eight years? Nine? I don't know. A Long Time. He's moving to PA and is pretty damn close to my house these days (200 miles. Big difference from when he lived in Wisconsin). Odin gets to meet his Grandpa!
Anyway, I am done with hummus and my sock is looking mournfully at me. Begging to be knit. Just a few rows of turning and I am ready to pick up my gusset.
Oh, how I long to be past the gusset! The gusset distresses me. It feels like it takes ages to knit.
